Introduction to Genealogy Workshop - Basic Level: 19 May 2010 at the University of Limerick commencing at 10a.m. - 2p.m.

  • Venue: Large Training Room, Glucksman Library, University of Limerick.
    A Genealogical Pilot Workshop has been planned for the 19 May, commencing at 10.am. This workshop is suitable for anybody interested in researching their family history. It will provide an introduction to basic genealogy and the relevant sources, skills and record-keeping. The workshop assumes no prior experience of historical or genealogical studies. This three hour session is divided into two parts. The first half will explore the sources available to Irish researchers; the second half will demonstrate how people use the sources online. Some of the sources explored are as follows:
